Commission backs W.Va. container law
In other business discussed by the commissioners:
*Permission was granted for Sheriff Gary White to hire two correctional
officers, who will each undergo 40 hours of training prior to starting the job.
*The county's application for the establishment of a Tax Increment Financing
(TIF) District in the Frankfort area was approved by the West Virginia State
Development Office on Nov. 21. The district will be known as Mineral County
Development District No. 1 - Frankfort.
* With there being no one present to protest the expansion of the Fountain
Public Service District to include all the area within the Cabin Run and Welton
taxation districts, the commission will enter an order recommending the West
Virginia Public Service Commission make the new boundaries official.
*A representative from the ATV Safety Institute will be available to speak
about all-terrain vehicle use and misuse at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the courtroom of
the Mineral County Courthouse.
*The next commission meeting is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Dec. 13.
